Water Wetters Question.

I just received my package from Mid America and received a bottle of water Wetters.

Now the question is, on a LT1 (96) what is the best way to put it into the radiator. My anti freeze was just changed while l had the radiator flushed.

Do l have to steal my wife's turkey baster again??

C'mon, all l want to know is where should l take out the 12oz'z of coolant and replace it with water wetter?

Because I don't have an LT-1, I didn't respond when I first saw this Alan. I thought surely someone else would have responded by now. :confused

The bottom line is that you are going to either have to lower the liquid level in the radiator and add the wetter through the radiator cap, or you are going to have to raise the front of the car high enough to create a space for the liquid to go. You may have to employ a little of both methods.

Maybe someone else will add their opinion now. ;stupid

I stole the turkey baster and used it to lower the coolant level in the radiator - it's mine forever now!

I put the coolant I removed in the overflow tank rather than just dump it.

Hang on to it! Dunno about C4 & C5, but C3 has no rear gear-differential drain plug.

I just poured mine right into the radiator.......
No problems...oh yah...I did use my "Turkey" baster from my tool box...
Ha!!!!!!!!!!

How did you do it, every time l took some out of the radiator it seem to fill up again. So, being frustrated l poured it into the overflow tank.

What happened when you siphoned some of the anti-freeze out of your radiator. Did it rise again?

Unless you get the car high enough in the front so the coolant doesn't run back out on you, you've either gotta remove a lot of liquid to make room for the pint of wetter, or you gotta open the drain a little, so that as you pour the wetter in coolant leaves the bottom of the radiator. Don't open it much or for too long or your wetter will just go straight through to the ground.

Easiest way is to get it up on ramps in the front.

When l took out of the radiator 12 fluid oz's of anti freeze and put it into my overflow tank with the water wetter, is my radiator now low on anti freeze and am l going to have an overheating problem?????

I took the radiator cap off and used my wife's baster to siphon out 12 oz's of antifreeze and put it into my recovery tank. And then l put the bottle of water wetter also into my recovery tank.

If you put the wetter in the coolant recovery tank, it's unlikely to ever work its way into the cooling system.

The coolant recovery tank is there for just that reason - to recover what would otherwise be lost coolant, when the radiator cap vents to relieve excess pressure. The coolant flows to the recovery tank where it stays until the radiator (the cooling system) cools enough, when it will draw the coolant back from the tank and back into the system.

I hope I cleared it up a little for you.

Where to put it....

It's real simple, here's what I did, I have an 94' LT1, just open the reservoir not the plastic container, but the tank up by the firewall, if it's full use a turkey baster or a siphon tube or something to remove about 12 oz of liquid and then pour in the Water Wetter and then top off the system with either coolant or water that's it........DO NOT pour the Water Wetter in the Plastic reservoir tank, because more that likely it will never get in the radiator..........my 2 cents!!
