waterless carwash???

I have heard nothing good about it. I have heard alot about QEW Protect All Quick Easy Wash which allows you to wash your car with less than 1 gallon of water. The people on www.autopia.com rave about it but I have not tried it myself.

Personally I would never use it on my car. Do you have any idea how many surface contaminants are on an unwashed car. I know you dont do it when the car if dirty, but even right after I wash mine I notice a layer of dust just from the air. I dont see how it would work, other then smearing the dirt into the paint.

Nothing beats "old fashioned" soap and water.

The secret is lubrication. Since it's physically impossible to remove dirt and contaminants at a 90 degree angle off your car, you have to wipe with some amount of pressure across the surface. Without proper lubrication, this is where scratches occur.

In reading the write-up on the product, there is a hint that the product contains abrasives (chemical or otherwise). ("Helps to reduce and remove existing minor feather scratches as you apply and buff the painted surface!") No where does it indicate that the product is "non-abrasive". They leave it up to the reader/consumer to draw that conclusion. This stuff scares me.

I have used it as a wax/polish. It works pretty well. I would not use it as a wash. It would cost way too much to use that way, anyway!
