today i waxed my dads car for him (excuse to drive it) but when i was goin to take the wax off it was like it was smearing around. could this have been becasue of it not drying properly, or what . any help would be appreciated, oh yea i got it lookin good i jsut wanna know what happend for next time

Without knowing

what type of wax/polish you tried, it sounds like you A) put it on too heavy, B) didn't let it dry or cure long enough, or a combonation of the two.

Your problems could have been what Baron138 posted or it might have been to cool of temperature to wax a vehicle. I think most wax directions say use above 60.

not trying to be a smart aleck - but read the directions!

You smeared your dads black C6? Run for the hills boy! LOL The other posters got it right by saying 1) Never let the wax sit too long on the car and dont use so much. Also, IMHO, dont use circular motions to apply or remove the wax. The paint is applied in back and forth motions so I always use the same motion for the wax. Just my 2 cents! Could I please have a penny back???????

Probably just a cool temperature problem.
