Weather strip repairs!!!!!!!!!!!

1996 LT1

l noticed that the weather stripping on the drivers post, where the side of the window close's against the door is splitting. lt has not split through and it is only 2 inches long. The weather strip is in excellent condition.

How can l mend this before it gets worse??????????

Kingman - I know excatly what you are talking about, but unfortunately I have never seen a repair kit for split weatherstripping, or any type of material used for a repair. When I purchased my car, I had the same problem and I just had the pieces replaced with new GM pieces. I think each piece was about $50.00 or so.

First l'm going to try glueing it with a 3M glue and see what happens, if it doesn't work l'll replace it since the piece is not a stock item.

Kingman, go to an auto supply store and get some black weatherstrip Adhesive. I have used this very successfully..later Dan
