I know weatherstrip questions have been done to death but I couldn't seem to find the info I was looking for.

I'm about to redo my car with body and soft top kits from one of the vendors, probably The Last Detail since they're the cheapest I could find. From reading some old posts, they use Corvette Rubber right? Anything I should worry about from others who have used this before?

Body kit seems straightforward, especially for a convertible. I've heard the doors are a pain in the ass and to have a helper or 2 handy. What about fasteners, screws, rivets? My doors are barren right now, the last people to paint decided to simply not replace the weatherstrip. Is it just suppose to hang on with the 3m adhesive I keep reading about?

For the soft top, can I safely assume to accomplish this with the top installed and the soft top frame on the car? I've heard everything from you should install the weatherstripping prior to top installation, or else to remove the frame assembly and do it on the floor and then install it back on the car.

Anyone been through this with their convertible? And if so, did you have the frame off the car, had the new soft top been installed yet, anyone have everything properly installed and THEN replaced all the weatherstripping?

Same question about fasteners, screws, rivets... anything I need as half the weatherstrip is missing so I'm really not sure what else is missing.

Sorry about the lengthy post, but I want to make sure this doesn't end up costing me a new top plus installation, etc, etc, etc. It's bad enough weatherstripping is made of gold as it is. ;)
