Weatherstrip question

I am replacing all the weatherstrip pieces on my '64 coupe. I have none on the hood ledge so I don't know exactly where to place it. Is it actually on the hood or is it in the engine compartment in the lip next to firewall. Many thanks ahead of time.

The weatherstrip is attached to the inside of the hood, it butts up against the the formed hood strenghtner.

There are small holes for the weatherstrip push pins in the underside of the hood - near the ends of the weatherstrip. On my original 66 hood, the weatherstrip ended about even with the rivet for the hood bayonet receiver plate - about 4-5 inches from the corners of the hood.
