Weight Difference Between 79 and 80 frame?

I remember reading through some vette history books that the 80 was put on a diet of approx. 200-300lbs (can't remember off of the top of my head) compared to the 79. This was a result of many things including a fiberglass spring and a frame that used a different kind of geometry i.e. using round tubing instead of box tubing (again I cant remember exactly).

Does anybody know the weight difference between the two frames?

Can an 80 frame be transplanted into a 79 without much modification?

Thanks for any help

Frank

The frames are the same. Thinner hood material, thinner glass , the rear differential housing, the front behind the bumper is aluminum pieces and also I think the pace car seats. I think that was all.
