i was makeing a left hand turn out of a kwicky mart a few months ago, getting on my 89 coupe alittle as i hit the highway when all of a sudden i get this noise, like something was caught inbetween the wheel and the body. it was a swishing, knocking sound the it faded out. im thinking brake pad must be low or something. i replaced all the pads all around ( great excusse to paint my calipers red!) but the noise keeps comming back! when it was raining the other day the noise happened all the time, the next day was sunny and hot and i head not a peep! the roters look ok, the noise seems to come from the pass. side rear. had a friend who rebuilds vettes take a look and a ride and ofcourse it only did it one time when we started off! lol! he checked all the universals... seem ok. are there wheel bearings i should be looking at? my friend said id be hearing them all the time if they where bad! any help? thanks! Sounds like the anti slip traction control kicking in.
Mine has done it twice when making right hand turns onto intersections where loose sand or gravel has piled up.
First time, the Traction Control light illuminated on the center screen.
I dont think it did yesterday.

But thats my guess -
