Sharon had never been to Koln, Germany never mind to see the DOM. It is one HUGE church in Koln.
This is just a small part of the church.....

While we were there, they had some kind of bike rally taken place leaving in front of the church....some kind of bikes...

and finally when I was backing my car into a parking spot beneath the church area in the garage, I saw this in my rear view mirror....I couldn't believe it!!!

car was in really nice shape, paint had some blisters in it and the chrome had a few pits here and there, but overall I was very impressed with the car....I left a note along with my email address on the windshield....I hope they email me.....I will let you know if they do....

Great weekend getaway and nice surprise in the parking garage....

we have plans to go to the hot air balloon fiesta in October out in New Mexico with my daughter and her husband. Ever see 5 balloons lifting off every minute for 3 hours?

Haven't heard anything yet.....as each day goes by I think the chance is less and less....

Nice find!:D

I was in Germany last weekend as well. I only saw 1 Corvette. A C-6 ragtop that blew my rented Phord off of the Autobahn.

I met Stefan (82ColEd) and his family in Frankfurt. We had a great visit and he gave me 1st hand info on the people at CAC that I most want to meet.

From our conversation it looks like CAC members are even better in real life than they are in cyber life.:upthumbs

Whenever any of you folks come to Euro-land please let me know. Outside of July and August I can almost always slip away for a day or two.:w

We are planning to be in Lisbon, Portugal for Christmas. Sharon already has reservations, not sure where we will be or what we will be doing, but I saw the plane reservations while looking around my Continental account today.....never a dull moment with her for sure!:beer

I did see a BLUE C5 go by me on the autobahn, me and my blazing fast 4 cylinder Opel! I had to get out of the way more than a few times, we were doing about 80mph and there were those overtaking me that I felt had to be going 130-140mph.....we were standing still in comparison....

If you do make it to NM, please give me a shout. I live here in Rio Rancho Nm. The balloon fiesta is a good time. I have lived here for 14yrs and don't seem to make it much anymore but I guess that's the way it goes when you live right next to something. I would love to buy you lunch, I appreciated some advice you gave me a while back and I would love to meet you personally and give something back.

Please let me know if you make it here, would love to show off the vette in progress.

Herb,

Even if you don't have time for Corvettes that would be fine, I would like to still offer to buy you & your family lunch.

We are in the process of building a new office and the vette is in limbo for right now so not much it happening to it now anyway.

Lisbon is an easy 4 hour drive from my house. The boat may still be in Portugal for Christmas as well. If so it is only an hour out of Lisbon.

Lisbon is a great city surrounded by neat places to go on day trips. The best (& most expensive) restaurant is just out of town on the coast road going north and is named after the town that we live in, El Puerto de Santa Maria.

Let me know when you are there. I will pop up for a glass of Green wine or lunch.:m

Hey Lord Igeaux.. (You know thats your name now, right ? :L ) We had a great time as well. Glad you got home safe and sound..

The misses and the kid say Hi to the bearded guy.
:w

What's the price of fuel in Germany ?

Bob
Igeaux, dont know, but maybe my math is off.. ;shrug

I get this:
Currently it's around 1.333 for regular, 1.341 for super and 1.451 for SuperPlus (Diesel is 1.172). All in Euro, all for 1 Liter, so, translated its:

Regular: 1.89
Super: 1.90
SuperPlus: 2.06
Diesel: 1.66

All that times 3.778 for 1 gal. means:

Regular: 7.14
Super: 7.18
SuperPlus: 7.78
Diesel: 6.27

We LOVE our cars.. ;) :ugh

Hi Stefan,

I was looking at the bill from Hertz. They charged 1.50€/lt when I turned the car in.:mad

Spain must have the best priced gas in Euro-Land. I am paying 1.09€/lt for 95 and 1.19€/lt for 98 minus a 10% discount that the track gets. (REPSOL is our #1 sponsor):)

GP2s are testing in Jerez tomorrow through Saturday and it is going to pour down rain.:W

Did both vehicles get through the TUV OK?

:w
