I have a 85 monte ss that has the original paint not faded but its always had orange peel. can or should I have it wet sanded and buffed? Or should I just leave well enough alone?

If you are going to go for that "perfect" finish, yes wet sanding/buffing/polishing is about all you can do for it. Is it worth the trouble and expense? Only you can answer that. If you show the car, it may well be worth the extra effort, but if it is just a weekend driver maybe not.

I wouldn't,I'd clay bar it and use a good cleaner Polish with a orbital buffer!! Then wax it with a good wax of your choosing!:thumb:thumb:thumb
If it's the original paint, there isn't a clear coat on that car and the paint is thin as heck on it,You'll burn through the edges!!:thumb

Yeah ive owned it since new it only has 58 thousand on it and its all original. I figured paint would be thin on it. Heres another question,Could it be clear coated over the original finish?
