What A great day (I made a little progress)

Well Friday night I was able to spend some time with the car at the body shop. I glassed over the holes in the fire wall.Today saturday I was able to smooth out the glass I installed on friday and get a coat of bondo on it.

Bob I also will never do another car with out a rotisery.The one I am using is a borrowed one.Next project (I allready decided what I am going to do as a matter of fact I may be making a deal on the vechicle next week this one is going to shock you all) anyways next project I will get the rotisery that has the pump jacks built into it.The worst part of the rotisery is having to deal with the height of the car it would be perfect if you could raise and lower it I am going to up load a photo to give you an idea of the hieght I have to deal with.

this morning (Sunday) I took my helper with me to clean up the shop and also to re install the seat belt brackets

Ray my garage is tiny.

The body shop who is doing the car for me is directly across the street from my business. I have a set of keys to his shop in case of an emergency.As a matter of fact when I was a kid I used to help him out with his heavey towing and have had a set of keys since then, some 20 years latter ,any ways when I sent the car to him I told him I wanted to smooth the firewall myself,The reason behind that was I removed the seam in the engine bay that holds the bottom of the fire wall to the top of the fire wall.I really wanted to make sure that seam was done correctly.I layered into that seam several times on the inside of the car and also in the engine bay.That firewall seam is probably the strongest part of the car now.At work some of the air conditioning untis come with a fiberglass drain pan.I cut the pans up to use as patch panels to close up the heater box hole and all the other holes in the fire wall. I was also concerned about making sure the correct holes were covered.I also had to locate the hole in the right spot for the column mount.I also had to re-enfource the area for a custom gas pedal.All of that I did not want to leave up to anyone else then ME .

He put my car In a seperate building this week end for me to work in the building size is about 25 x 60. I am envous of the building also. When I retire to florida (14 more years and counting) I will build my self a nice shop to work in.

Looks good! It brings back memories of when I did my firewall. I spent all last week laying flat on my back under the dash of the 59 wiring it. The ammount of time that can be spent doing this is amazing, but a lot of it was interfacing the ECM into the main harness and giving the computer all the inputs it was looking for.

Well my deal just fell apart.When I was picking up my vette body from the media blaster last week I had came across an old 1965 B Model Mack tractor Body in a escuvating companies back lot just wasting away .I thought we had a done deal with the owner but it seems his grandson wants to keep the truck as is.

My plans were to put a somewhat modern dual rear wheel 4x4 frame under it for my Dad who loves the old Macks.

Hows that for a different type of a project
