Some of you guys may have noticed my signature I've been using this year celebrating 35 years of Corvette ownership. Well, 35 years ago today, May 1, 1971, I bought my first Corvette at age 18. It was a Nassau Blue on black leather 1966 327/350 HP, 4-speed coupe. I did buy it on my own. My late father co-signed on the loan but I paid every cent of the payments. There have been a total of 13 of the fiberglass wonders since then and I've loved every one of them.
So, to my Corvette brethren, time passes quickly when you're having fun. I honestly can't believe it's been 35 years but it has. And I have been proud to be a Corvette owner and lover.
I am attaching two pics of me and my cars-one from 1971 and one taken today of my 2004 Arctic White on Torch Red LS-1, 6-speed convertible. Please go easy on me and keep the insults to a minimum.

Dooscoop,
How could you think we'd be insulting you? I mean, 35 years of Corvette Ownership is quite an accomplishment. I rather envy you, as in 1971, I was only four years old.

Congratulations, and if anyone tries to smack down some insults, they'll have Tammy and myself to answer to!
;)

...And remember to keep waving.

Dooscoop,

You know how much I like your current ride - so dont' get embarrassed - but here I go "again". Folks, this C5 convertible is a perfectly beautiful car. The classic white vette with red interior - a little touch of the original 53' scheme. Nicely done - don't change a thing and hats off to 35 years of Corvette ownership.

Remo, if everybody on these sites were as complimentary and kind as you are, the world would be a better place. And you know how much I like your car and the beautiful photo you have. It is the best one on this site. Many thanks again to you for everything.

CONGRATULATIONS! :beer Like you, I bought my first Corvette in that same year, 1971. It was September and the car was a new 1972 convertible in Ontario Orange firemist. I think I will fix a martini tonight and toast to you and everyone who has owned, currently owns or who will own in the future, the wonderful icon, CORVETTE!

Congratulations!:upthumbs It was a year or so later for me and the first one was a ’60. Dang I did not realize that it had been that long. Careers, wives, boats and planes have come and gone but there was always a Vette in the barn… time really does go fast when your having fun.:lou
