Having recently purchased and yet to get installed, CORSA Touring, I'm moving on to my next project....as winter will soon be over (lol). Presently I have an XM unit in the car, but it fades out at times and I'd rather just add on an extra radio to my Sirius account...it's cheaper. So, that being said, I'm asking all of you for input as to what Sirius radio you have and where you located your unit and antenna. The head unit on mine is routed out the power plug, center console, (which was removed by the previous owner) and the "guts" are mounted on the passenger side transmission tunnel, behind the carpeted panel. Suggestions, please and Thanks!!! :w

Mine is basicaly an XMD 1000 (like an older XM Commander), when I used it with the small controller head it came with I had that mounted (double sided tape) to the ash tray door on the console. Some guys put the controller head right inside the ashtray compartment but at the point I put mine in I wasnt keen on modifying the car (that changes after a while.....we cant help it...:rotfl) . Later I put a car pc in with a seven inch display so I kept the receiver portion (stowed in the rear hatch storage compartment) and routed the XM audio directly into the pc (so I removed the controller head from up front).

The antenna is in the rear bumper housing. Easiest way is to mount it to a small (8"x4") piece of sheet metal, bend that into a right angle, magneticaly stick the antena to that, remove one tail light and reach in to the rear. You will find sever places to mount it in there. I just drilled a hole in the plate i made, removed a bolt in there, slid it on and replaced the bolt. Its a plastic (well UMC or whatever we call it) enclosure so it has no effect on the signal, and its completely out of sight.

I installed the Sirius Starmate 4 by removing the ashtray. I did not have to cut or destroy anything. The antenna is mounted with double sided tape above the left side tail lights and has held up for almost two years. I get good reception and have had no issues. I did use the FM plug in adapter to hook to the radio.
