Wow. Good luck with that. Nothing scares me more than a project that is...under the dash!! It's just not a place I like to work with. Nothing ever seems to fit back to the way it was "before I took it off". Good luck!! :D

It wouldn't be such a hard job except that every time I pull parts off the 'vette, I got to Scotch-Brite them and re-paint'em--makes the job take 3X as long. Not to mention the inevitable trip to Home Depot for something...

I can tell it hasn't been hard cause I'm not bleeding anywhere yet...

DAYUUUM!

That looks like a SLOT A, TAB B, SCREW C nightmare.....

Rotsa ruck!

Not sure how many people know this... when GM built the C3's, they started by laying the heater core on the ground at the start of the assembly line and then built the entire car around it.

Been there, did that!:ugh You are well on your way to the end of this project. Keep at it and you will enjoy the feeling of knowing that you have a brand new heater core in there and should not have to worry about it for another 28 years.

Just makes me wish I was doin it. because then I'd own a Vette. LOL. :)

And I fully understand the 3X bit. :D

funny thing, somebody asked about this last month. i said i heard its a major pita, somebody else said its not that bad. having not done this yet, just looking at the pics makes me stand by my pita conclusion

It was worse going back in...

Just to slap one in probably takes about 3 hours--I finished mine in 9--I like things looking good even in places I can't see'em.

I am very glad it's finished--whew! I only have 3 cuts, 2 bruises, and a rash from laying in anti-freeze...

Now if only it'd only get cold I could enjoy it! I had to run the a/c today--tok all the fun out of changing the core!
