What color testors paint....

Tom,

I used Model Master Flour. Red-Orange 2041 for the gauge and clock hands and Polly Scale BR. Sky 505254 for the clock second hand.

If your Red-Orange gauges are faded the paint will look like it is too bright but when it dries it is a dead on match for the needles on available replacement gauges. The BR. Sky is not an exact match but the difference is so suttle that no one has ever mentioned that it stands out.

Don,

Thanks for the reply that is Great!

The clock second hand is the tough one to match. The color is the same as the gauge/clock numbers. I have heard many urban legends about professional restorers hoarding the last few drops of the OEM paint to suoer secret forumulas to duplicating the hue under lock and key.

The poly seal will look a little light if you use it to repair a gauge face but the contrast is so minimal it looks great on a moving/stutterstepping second hand. I have done several for friends and no one has mentioned the second hand looking incorrect.
