While struggling to exit my coupe the other night, my wife asked if I would do "her" a favor and please buy a C5. Several of our friends have C5's and she knows they are easier to enter/exit and generally ride better. Since I am out of garage (four car) space this means one of the C4's will have to go. Reluctantly I've decided that my triple black 94 coupe will have to go but since C4 prices are all over the map, I thought I might ask you experts what you would ask if you were in my place. Please take into consideration that vettes sell well year round in the Houston area because of the mild weather. I am the 3rd owner with all documentation going back to when the second owner bought the car in '96 with 9K miles. First owner told him that she only had changed the oil twice before she sold it. Naturally it is an LT1 with A4 transmission and 3.07 performance axle. It now has 34.5 K on the odometer. The car has always been garage kept and covered. It has about 90-95% deep, shiny paint...the only flaws are small rock chips and scratches from normal road use. She rides on Goodyear Eagle F1's installed at 30K and has a flawless interior....just normal interior sqeaks and rattles associated with C4 vintage vettes. Bose gold CD and all power seats. Great working PKE. All of the following have been installed since I bought the car in April 03;
Professionally refinished sawblades (I mean like new!)
Pinsriping
Window tint
Front and back SS inserts
New front and gas lid emblems, rear area bumpers, rear glass catch
New console shifter plate, radio bezel, instrument lens and console pad
New B pillar and rear deck weatherstrip ( I have A but not yet installed)
Chrome sill protectors and info center plate
Embroidered front and cargo mats
Delrin bushings in both headlight motors
Antenna motor
New OEM water pump
Dynatech vented optispark
K&N filter, air foil and open top lid
Hypertech programer and 160* thermostat
B&B 2 1/2" triflo catback system
You can see why I'm reluctant to part with her but it is for a good cause. How many of us are lucky enough to have a woman that supports our vette habit and encourages upgrades?!! Got to keep her happy! I assure you this car is sharp and has not been dogged ....only ocassionally "exercised" to stay in shape.
Any honest and genuine feedback about potential pricing would be greatly appreciated.
