What is a divorced style choke?

I'm in need of a new carb and came across this term under Edelbrock's Q-Jets. What exactly is it and how does it work?

Hi,
With a dicorced choke the choke spring is mounted on the intake manifold.

Thanks, I was wondering what that little thingie was on the side of the carb.. How can I adjust it? My car runs at a high idle and won't come down unless I shut off the car and re-start it..

If it has the thermo spring mounted on the intake, I believe that you bend the link to make your adjustment. Ask around or find that in print somewhere before trying. I would hate to see you brake something.

I thought that a divorced style choke was a wrestling move that you would do if you were really mad at your ex.
