What is determination of 1969 Early or Late model?

I just happen to know the answer to this, since I went thru this with my '69 big block car. The difference is in the radiator support. Late '69 small block and big block radiator supports are drilled for the use of push-in fasteners (PIF's) to help secure the seals. So a early '69 will use adhesive seals only and a late '69 will use adhesive seals and PIFs. So if you look in the assembly manual where it shows the seal location and look at your radiator support where they show a seal, if you have 1/8" holes, then your support is late. No holes is early, if it is the original support.

GM made running changes in the production of these cars. What you have to keep in mind, while a car may have what they call a early radiator support, you may find that it has late door handles. The early/ late only applies to the specific part you are discussing, not to the whole car.

Anyway, hopes this helps you out.
