Help! what is stock fan size (dia) on a '77

I'm attempting to replace a flex fan that came with the car, can't hack to noise anymore, and it is scary. I'm getting two different sizes for stock fans for my year, from different parts houses, 17 1/2" and 18 1/2", I'd really like to know what came from the factory. My '77 was built 10-76, ca. car, L-48, auto w/air, fan shroud is original, seems to measure about 19 1/8" across. Any help would be appreciated, this is my first post, I could always find my answer here somewhere......... until now.:confused

My Corvette parts catalogue says #469580, 18-1/2", seven blade, also used through '81.

I'll measure the one I took off my '77 tonight and post the measurement. It's sitting on the shelf in my shop. It also was an L-48 auto w/ air.

thanks for info. I'm wondering if all fan shrouds were created equal, all listings seem to show only one, all of which look like mine, but is 19 1/8" opening in fan shoud seem right...I'm going to measure that again

The shroud opening is probably fine. When you install the fan, you want to center it in the shroud opening, getting it an even as possible side to side and at the top.

The one sitting on my shelf is 17 5/8" 7 blade. If you're interested, I have the clutch too. I'll never use it. Make me an offer? I'm not sure what the opening in the shroud was, I sold it. Art

Thanks for info., seems that diameter is correct, at least since it did come off the '77. So, yes, I would be interested in purchasing your fan and clutch, I know I'd have parts that fit. How about $50 plus shipping and handling? Or you tell me, I appreciate the help and offer from you, just want to get on the road again.
