I am in the process of trying to set the timing on my 1973 Vette for the first time when I noticed the obvious. The battery hookups are not long enough to reach behind the seat. What do most people do to safely hook up their light without burning up the electrical system? Also, how do I set the timing on a Mallory distributor with no vacuum advance? Thanks for your help!

attach the positive lead to the positive output on the alternator, the negative lead to the negative lead on the alternator, or another ground source. Clip the spark sensor to the #1 spark plug wire (don't let it touch anything metal.

Pull the trigger and aim!

#1 plug on a chevy is drivers front most (just in case)

Sweet!!! :upthumbs
