Howzit and Aloha!
I was wondering, since I put a 52 throttle body on my car last night (Mahalo to a buddy of mine here in Hawaii) what kind of gains should I expect to get?
I never ran with it at the track obviously, in fact, I havent even driven it yet, bout time I installed it, it was around 11:15 p.m, to late to do some testing.
I have done the usual air intake and exaust mod's like, cut air filter thing, ported plenum, intake manifold, saimiesed runner's, 1.6 rollers, gutted all the cat's with no mufflers on the car, changed to 3.07 rear end from the 2.59, relocated air temp sensor, smog pump removal, Ed wright custom race chip, programed the fans to turn on at 160* with a 160 thermal stat, and now the 52 mil throttle body... hhmmmm..... I think that just about does it for the mod's.
So once agin I ask, what kind of gains should I be expecting with the edition of the throttle body?

The TB on L98's won't do much unless you go into the intake at the very least. The bigger TB works well with the larger intake tubes (I think TPIS sells them). I have seen 2 tenths off the quarter mile with that combo installed. (but every car is different)

I have fully ported the intake and plenum with the saimiesed runner's.

I also mentioned that I have the 1.6 roller rockers.
When racing at the track, I shift at about 5300 rpm's.
In my opinion, this thing was beggin for a bigger throttlebody, I thought so anyway.
The plenum is ported out alot, along with the intake and the saimiesed runner's, I can feel the car pulling up to at least 5500 rpm's easily, no problem what so ever.

I don't know how I missed the intake work on your post since I was looking for it.... must be a case of the mondays LOL. anyway, the TB in your car sounds like a great mod. You should easily pick up a tenth in the quarter with it, possibly more depending on how much of a bottle neck the old TB was.
