Hey Boostedmax, sorry, don't think we have met but I had to laugh! Just looked at a post 6/29 and you got a Denali, so no B2k for awhile. Now I see today your 12 hours away from one! Didn't realize awhile meant 2 weeks!!!!
Seriously, CONGRATS!

Well things have a way of changing I guess :) I have a fully restored '68 Mustang Convertible that is going to a new home. I've had that car for years and was a great cruising car when I lived in Seattle, but Texas is just too damn hot! We never really can enjoy it with the extreme heat here.

That being said, I sold my Grand National last month and now I'm left with this name "boostedmaxPSI" with nothing to turn the boost up on, so... B2K here I come :)

I don't have it yet, it could still turn out to be crap but somehow I doubt that. I was looking for a plain jane C4 with the B2K option for awhile or possible a ZR1. Everytime I would think about engine failure on the ZR1 and the amount of $$$$ it would take to get it running again I turn back to the B2K.

This should be a fun car to play with and drop the hammer on an unsuspecting prey who thinks this is just some old Vette who's 250hp L98 days have been long goooone :)

I flew in last night and I'm at a hotel across the street from the car and I can't sleep. Hopefully I'll be driving it home soon. :)

It's been over 12 hrs. How did the car look? Did you purchase it? Let us know-we want details.

Tick tock....should be pulling in at his house any minute now....he was all smiles on the phone a while ago

I bet his boys are waiting up for him. :lou

SUCCESS!

Chualk one more Callaway up for Team Texas.:beer

88-57 is now a Texan. Car is super clean on the outside and inside. I need to take some time and tiddy up the engine bay and hook up Shop's Tech II and make sure everything is ok.

Three things need to be addressed ASAP. There's no exhaust on this car :( The cats were missing as well as the mufflers. Straight pipes all the way back.

I spoke with the Callaway team about a replacement part, so if anyone has B2K cats they don't need let me know.

Then there's the slight hesitation on the top end. WOT seems to be a problem. If I back off the accelerator just a touch then the car starts picking up speed again. Any ideas? I'm thinking microfueler and or TPS checks

Finally, seems like there's a high idle at times and possible sticking throttle. Maybe the IAC needs cleaning and reset. During the daytime I'll investigate this further.

Other then that this is really nice car. The interior is damn near perfect as well as the Dymag wheels.

The car came with an unusual "Callaway Owner's" box. I've never seen anything like this before. The seller keep telling me about this box of stuff!??!?! Well this box has the owner's supplement leather kit in perfect condition as well as some other Callaway leather binders. I thought it was pretty neat.

The "box" is black in color with 2 red pin strips and some language about a privelaged owner. It's about 12" long and 10" wide and 2" deep. Anyone else have or seen this before?

That's about it. When I get it all cleaned up I'll post some pictures.

And yes the "big Wonderbar" needs to go on.

The boys were up and very excited. They each have picked out which one was theirs :)

Isn't the Super Trap exhaust also a Callaway exhaust system (option)?

A set was sold on ebay about 6 months ago. I think it was 4x4x4 (something else) that purchased them. They were new and never installed. It was the replacement set for the 88 year, Not the orrigional ones that were first produced. I changed mine to the updated oem ones with the recall-lost a lot of power. I kept the orriginal ones to change out at a later date. Hope that helps.:w

the buyer was 4x4*4fun it was me . RedB2KThe original set of cats that you have were not approved for the vehicle that is why the recall for the exhaust was done. do you need the original exhaust or would you consider upgrading to the Megaphone . Megaphone exhaust is a really great sounding exhaust and the sound of the turbo's spooling is incredible.

The box you are talking about is the owners presentation kit . It was only given to 87 and 88 owners. Atruly great find. Almost as hard as finding a turbo. Go with the Callaway Megaphone exhaust you can not go wrong.

I have both of the complete front exhaust systems. I performed the recall myself. After driving the car, the power loss was noticable, so I kept the orrigional set up. I will probably build a custom 3 inch and use a megaphone tip. I do not need converters as it is not a checked item in this part of Texas. The problem I see with the factory megaphone is the inlet size is only about 2 1/4 inches. I still have the orrigional ones from my 87. I will probably make something a little bigger. I also thought about using a B&B 3 inch set up from a ZR1 and modifying the front to fit the turbo's. Any thought on that?

the new Callaway Megaphones are avail in stock rr y-pipe inlet size (2.25") and also a larger 2.75" :lou

I did not get the box with any of mine. I did recieve the brown leather books with the 87 i just purchased. From the paper work it was added at a later date. It was a $225.00 warranty folder purchased from Callaway. It has the "CALLAWAY CORVETTE" emblem on the front just like the box does.

That would be the box Chris. It has two leather binders in it. One large binder for the maint. records and mileage record in really neat Callaway stationary/paper binder.

Then their's the smaller binder where it has a card in it from Callaway to the first owner. The smaller binder has the Callaway specific owner's manuals and troubleshooting guide.

Sounds like you have what I need. I will not be able to register this car until I get this done. That's my weak attempt at a guilt trip :)

Seriously if someone has the front section of this exhaust I'm in desprate need.
