And where can I get em from??
Im in South Africa so freight will be an issue.
Was thinking I should try import a whole front end of a vette?
Guy clipped my nose when he ran a red stoplight - hit me on the right hand side , the stuff scrunched to the left. Look at the pic taken from the centreline of the car.
I drove home 3 miles after the accident with some horrible fan touching something noises , no fluid leakes , seems no chassis or steering or suspension damage
Im so p---sed off!!!!

Sadly, you'll need all of it. A one piece front clip will not be stock but might possibly save you shipping costs.

Unfortunately, you may have right side frame damage. Check carefully.

Good luck.

:)

For your own peace of mind, send it to a frame shop for an inspection befor repairs are made. IF you can find an honest eBayer or a good Vette wrecking yard, it might be worth buying a complete car w/o engine & transmission and putting it in a container. A good body may be able to cover your costs if some one else needs the rear half. Just a thought.

Crap.. :mad

Sorry to hear Rodney.. I'm with Mike, looks like the whole front clip, nose etc. But get the frame checked first.

If you do have something shipped, askl them to crate it. I had a rear end shipped, 3 times in fact, as the box wasnt protected and got crunched under other stuff, bending the Fibre in all sorts of ways.

Really sorry to see that. If you have fan noises, you'll have to check the radiator support carfully, it may need replaced too. Plus the shroud and aux fan, possibly the fan itself. Basically, you'll have to get it apart to really know what's broken and can or can't be repaired. Looks like there may be some headlight support damage too.

Damn sad to see! Good thing you got out in one piece!
When I look at the pictures I would say, remove the frontclip and bumper before ordering anything. I think there is more damage then hits the eye right now. When you look at the first "body mount" that supports the nose in the front, it isn't in the centerline anymore and off a few inches. Like mr. damoroso said, if your fan hits there is more wrong, with the front chassis extension (where the nose sits on) is connected to the front of the chassis where your radiator support sits, also check that, could also be off...

I would say for transport, check companies that import cars or persons, normally they have some space left in the sea container but it still will be expensive.

btw. Did the guy have an insurance or did you get this licenseplate? Good luck!!

Hiya All , I still havent touched anything - it's as you see it ..I'm too depressed!!!
My idea is to park the car this year - IE spend the whole of this coming year "fixing" it and adding some more performance bits..

I have a Camaro z28 and a 454 El Camino to play with so Im not totally bereft of toys.
I think my best option is to locate a complete front clip , door to door with all fittings , wiring , inner fenders , mounting hardware , radiator support and so on , basically the whole of a car cut at the windshield.
Importing a whole car into South africa is not a problem freight wise , it is a problem re our laws prohibiting any more LHD cars being imported here - basically , you can only import a lhd if its 40+ years old - so a whole car is kinda out.
I will have to assess damages , will try strip what I can and then take an angle grinder to the rest of the glass.

My issue with finding a front clip is that hopefully the wrecking yard is honest and the thing is decent and complete and issues in getting it crated for x/port to SA.
Thanks for the advice and commiserations - can anyone recommend a good wrecking yard? :)

I am seriously thankful no one was hurt , I have had 2 serious neck ops this year and had I been T-boned , I would most likely have ended up a quad , the guy that bashed me - who I doubt Im going to recover anything from , had an 11 yr old girl in the seat the side he hit me , no seatbelts...it's only money I'm gonna be out!!
I actually think my best plan right now before i even start is to get a factory assembly manual so I at least know what im doing before stripping.
