What range of HP increase can I expect?

My vette's engine (L48) was somewhat modified, exactly how not quite sure, other than possibly a smaller cam. The engine was torn down, to check the previous owner's work.

One thing I can confirm is that it has a stainless steel true dual exhaust, two cats and flowmater muflers. What sort of approx. HP increase can be gained from this type of exhaust system?

I assume there are places where I can get dyno test to see the actual HP output?

if your running the stock exhaust manifolds, you gained about ten hp. running headers, your in the 20-25 hp range provided the cats are high flow, Brian

if he put in a smaller cam (and i'm not sure what that means?) but I would say you have" lost "hp. if i'm reading you right.

I checked with the mechanic. All appears to be stock, including the headers. According to the mechanic, it appeared as though, and from the way she idles, that a racing cam was installed.

Your saying I would lose HP?

than that wound be a bigger cam. and more hp.

Tossing a high-performance cam into a given engine can still decrease power, if it isn't matched to the other parts.

The best way to find out what you're producing, is to find a local performance shop that has a dyno. I don't think it's all that expensive to take a couple pulls...
