What size tire for a 68 stingray

Hi I have a 1968 stingray corvette with stock rally rims 15/7. And I was trying to find out what the bigest tire u can fit without any rubs? Thanks michael

to clarify i was thinking about putting a 235 or 245 60 series. also consedering bigger in the rear. anyone have a stingray with these size tires?

I had 10 inch rear rims on my 70 convert many years ago. I put 2756015 on it but had to put a few washers under the springs at the ends.

My 68 has 245's all the way around. My 79 has 255's all the way around but they both have 8 inch wide wheels. My wheels are currently after-market mags. When I bought the cars, the 68 had 15x8 rallies and the 79 had the stock alloys on it. (same size) Both cars had those set of tires on them when purchased. I purchased new tires when I added the mags. I haven't had a rubbing problem.

225 70R 15s on mine at the moment. 235s will also fit without problems.

I have 255's all the way around with 15 x 8 wheels and the fronts rub when turning lock to lock....
