My Vette won't start, hit the key and silence....
It all started two weeks ago. All the details are in

I thought I was having a distributor issue but 2 days or so after the above, things changed, if i attempted to start the car, it would either start and up for about 30 seconds, or do nothing. Additionally the dash digital display would not alway light up, sometimes with the key in it all of a sudden "click" in. ( I could hear relays), so....
I pulled the lower dash console off to find out the ground wire to the steering column had burnt up. I dropped the steering column and pulled the display to trace the wire. It appears that the ground wire splits into about 8 separate leads midway in the loom behind the display. (btw - its a PITA to stand on your head to trace those wires!!) I was able to connect in a new ground wire at the junction and back into the connector on the side of the steering column. Didnt help.
I have checked for power at main ignition switch, 12v at the pink in on and start position and 12v to the yellow on start. I also checked the operation of the 4 relays that are on the drivers side, but not really sure what each of them do yet but they get power with the key on....
I did have a new vats key cut just in case, and the battery was fresh two weeks ago but may be getting weak now so it's on trickle charge now. At one point tonight I did get a 'click' from the starter, just one, and not again. I suspect a relay is not getting juice along the path somewhere and I know there are several on the passenger side as well. I also checked all of the fuses both inside and under the hood, but a post search tonight reminded me of the fusible links, - will check tomorrow.
Does anyone know of a good schematic diagram for the 96's? The crap in Haynes manual is too generic. Any suggestions - there's a case of beer up for graps to who ever can help me get this beast back on the road!!!
