What tools do I need to adjust my carb?

What will I need to set up the carb? I have a dwell meter but the manual shows other tools needed to make adjustments. I think a Co. called Thexton made them, but I dont know exactly what I need. Thanks in advance.

Thexton did make an electronic carb adjustment kit. If you watch on Ebay long enough, I'm sure you could find one.

What you need are the tools to adjust the idle screws, MC solenoid travel and possibly the TPS. I used my dremmel tool cutting wheel to cut the head off an old screwdriver, then slotted the end of the shaft to make a tool to adjust the MCS. I borrowed a mechanic friend's old Thexton carb adjustment kit (he doesn't use it much anymore) and made a copy of the "J" tool to measure MCS travel. While I had his kit, I used the special tool needed to adjust TPS. I've also taken out my idle adjustment screws and slotted them with the dremmel so they can be adjusted now with a standard screwdriver.

They may be available from some source, but I could not find them. I was able to get by as I described above. But, as I stated, I'm sure if you look on Ebay long enough, some retired mechanic will put his kit on sale eventually.

If you get the Tomco carb kit, it comes with the gauge to set the lean idle mixture solenoid depth and it also comes with a float gauge which can also be used to set the rich mixture solenoid setting. The only special tool you really need is the one to turn the very small "nut" for the lean and rich solenoid settings with the carb assembled. If you have it apart, you can just use needle nose pliers or a small wrench.

If you are not able to find the carb tools, I can loan you mine.
