So what, if anything is on your LT to do list this winter?? Last year I did misc. things about the car. Biggest part was replacing the convertible top. This winter the plan is to start going back to stock parts on the engine to include re-installing the intake and carb (most likely will rebuild). While doing that, replace all the hoses to correct ones and I figure on pulling the radiator and having it serviced as well. Been also debating on a repaint.

Now if I were to repaint, I think I would prefer a base coat/clear coat of the original color over a stock paint application. The car I believe has had one repaint in it's life. But I think the old paint process is more apt to fade. Any Nay's or Yea's for one or the other? Does a base & clear coat paint effect points at a judged event??

Happy & Safe New Year by the way!!

Well, I have to deal with a leaky front caliper, and in turn replace the front lines (both hard and the rubber hoses), that's about it.
My car has had one repaint, in laquer, and still looks pretty good. If I were to have it repainted, I would probably go with the polyuerathane base/clear coat system. I had that done to a '72 I had a couple of years ago and it looked great. A lot more durable than laquer.

Dick: Thanks for the response. I've had one base & clear coat paint job on another car I previously owned and liked it very much. Any opinion on how that type of paint might effect any judging over a polyurathane paint job???
