Quadrajet.
They really are great carbs. A little harder to get set up correctly, but once you have it tuned, it runs very well.

I would be inclined to use a 670 Holley Street Avenger. Tuning parts are easy to get and it's simple to tune.
The Quadrajet is a great carb. but tuning parts are hard to locate and few people understand them.

The ZZ4 comes with everything but a carb and an oil filter adapter.
I have my original QJet 750 from my L48 sitting on top of mine. MaineShark is correct though. You really need to find someone that knows how to tune it. Though once it's tuned correctly, it's probably the best street carb out there. I'm fortunate enough to have a mechanic that knows everything about everything and he has my Qjet tuned perfectly for my engine and exhaust setup.
He tore it down, replaced the pieces that were worn, and rejetted it. Runs like a champ!
I couldn't even tell you anything about other carbs because I've never had to deal with 'em!

street application, i would go for a Q-jet, if a choke is not needed, race demons are sweet! there are lots of books on Q-jet performance, that is your best and cheapest route if your old one is in good condition. book, small drill bit set, weekend of reading and some courage are the main things for tuning a Q-jet. I have the orignal Q-jet but have a crate demon on the shelf, I guess the crate demon was rejetted for the ZZ4. I might have to experiment. I had my Q-jet rebuilt by Lars.
