When my car is cold I hear a whistling noise from the right side of the car in the front which corresponds to the wheel turning. The faster I go the louder it gets. As you slow down it stops. When you drive the car a couple of miles the sound eventually goes away. Any Ideas????

I had this same thing happen to me on one of my cars.
It was the power steering pump.
It was a long time ago, i don't remember if it was low \dirty
fluid, or a bad pump.
Easy fix, no worries! gary.

I think Gary is probably right. Check the PS level then after you drive it, check the PS fluid and see if it's bubbly. Make sure you do a few strained turns in aparking lot or something so you the system runs lock-to-lock. If it's bubbly, you may also have a leak - this happened to my Cav.

On the flipside, it's all in how you describe a noise sometimes.

Good Luck! You need to get some fun outta that new LT-1 before winter sets in. ;)

Eric, when I said wheel turning I meant right front wheel not steering wheel. No P/S on this LT-1. Any other ideas?

By the way, I have some nice pics of the 'new car' but files are large and won't post on this forum.

I have to agree with Heidi. Sounds like something rubbing. Brake caliper or wheel bearings possibly.

Does it go away or change when you hit the brakes?

Is it a whistle or squeal?

Can you hear it if you jack up the front and spin the wheel by hand?

Good luck.
