Okay, I know the engine is dirty, so dont get upset. I have a leak in this hose and I am not sure what it goes to. I have not had alot of time to track it down.

That’s PCV valve related...

UB,

That’s PCV valve related. The metal tube near the center of your photo connects to the a rubber elbow joint which connects to the PCV valve.

The PCV valve, should want to replace it is a
AC Rochester Type CV 895 C.

If your PCV valve hasn’t been replaced in a while, it may take a little extra effort to slide it out. The flat black plastic piece with the rounded corners stays attached to the manifold. Just the valve should slide out. It may be a little tight to get your fingers in there, but you can undo that rubber elbow joint from the head of the PCV to gain a little wiggle room.

I usually pick a PCV valve at the Chevy parts department, they always have them in stock. If you pick one up at the parts dept, you just have to tell them that you need a PCV valve, CV 895 C.

That rubber boot is susceptible to heat and often deteriorates on the underside creating a vacuum leak. A perfect replacement is a spark plug boot, which is actually heat resistant. Not NCRS, but 0 cost and good for a couple of hundred thousand miles!

the 3 hoses with the blue and black are your opti spark vac hoses
to right is brake booster
center is vac for fuel regulator :eek

Okay, I went to the dealer and gave the part number and they gave me the PCV filter. What I needed was the rubber hose that goes from the PCV to the metal tube. They dont sell the rubber piece, so I got a 3/4 inch rubber hose and cut it to fit. No more problem.

Glad to hear that the rubber hose took care of the issue!
