Just purchased a 1999 convertible. Manual says the wheel lock key is in the left storage compartment along the trunk rail. Can someone be more specific. Also, assuming it is simply missing what are my alternatives? I think I have located the original owner and I am trying to see if they have a records of the key number.

I have had good luck using a 7/8 twelve point socket hammered on the lock and then using the impact wrench to get it off. I have had to do this more than once and always works. You just have to get the right size socket on the lock.

It's an all-too-common method used by wheel thieves. :(
