I have been reading and following the discussions for quite a while and now I find I need help.
After working and raising kids all my life (I'm semi- retired) I was finally able to purchase my first vette, an 89 convertible. A mechanic friend of mine checked and said I needed wheelbearings on three wheels. Figured I might as well change all.
After changing them I drove about 20 miles and a loud intermittent metalic scraping noise started in the rear wheel area. When ever the noise occurs the ABS light comes on and the brake pedal is extremely hard. When the noise stops the ABS light goes out and the brakes are normal.
Any suggestions what might be wrong or were to look?
