Just purchased a 1996 C4 with the LT4 eng and having several issues. wheels have a security nut on each wheel and there was no special key that came with the car any comment would be helpfull.
Also clutch needs several pumps the engage or activate i presume its the slave cylinder rather than the master clutch cyl?

There should be a thin-walled impact socket (for the wheel lug nuts) & a socket key (also thin-walled & impact type) in the vehicle. They are usually stored in the storage compartment which is located behind the passenger seat in the cargo area. There is a plastic tray which is removable in this compartment. Sometimes the wheel lug socket & socket key are placed below the removable tray.

Problem with clutch operation could be EITHER master cylinder or slave cylinder. The pumping of the clutch pedal points to the master. The clutch operation stopping completely might point to just the slave.

wheel nuts/clutch

Thank you for your reply
There was no key for the nuts. I drove a 12 pt 20mm socket on and then air hammered them off. Dealer had not nuts available, Napa suplyed me 5 that were just a 1/8 inch longer but did the job.
I beleive the after market slave cylinders are the best bet.?
As a aperentership mechanic and dealing with several race cars includind Lotus 15, C and D Jags along with some formular 2 cars and coventry climax engines 1500 and 2,500 cc in the late 50's but then persuing world yachting, I find my auto skills now lacking and getting use to replacing parts rather than repairing, is much more expensiove but easer.
Thank you again

You are very welcome!

I replaced my clutch slave cylinder with a new cast iron replacement from Advance Auto Parts just before summer.

Works beautifully from when I installed the cylinder to today.
