Does any one know the correct wheel torque for a '65 disc brake car? I'm gonna buy one of those impact gun torque extensions. That'll make life easier.

Frank,

The 1967 Shop Manual says 75 ft-lbs for the Corvette and 65 ft-lbs for all other Chevy car lines.

Thanks Bob.
Have you got 'Bubbles' helping you with the the car? I see by the latest "Hip" video, you couldn't have picked a better man.

I believe my 66 manual says 65 pounds-feet.

I never use an impact gun, always a torque wrench with a really deep 6 point socket. I also tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to prevent warping of the rotors. My car has 67 ralley wheels on it. I always wipe teflon antisieze compund on the wheel centers and lug nuts to make sure removal is easy and the torque readings are true.

Thanks Magic. I anti seize my studs and seats to. With an impact, there are tools available, a 1/2' drive extension that you can buy for specific torques. No mattter how long you hold the impact on the nut, it will absorb any more torque than the value that it is rated for.
