I know it can be done, but can anyone give me an idea of what I need to do to install C5 wheels on my C4? I really don't like the C4 wheels and I've seen lots of pics of C4s with C5 and even C6 wheels. Thanks.

Bolt patterns are the same. Usually its only a matter of getting the appropiate spacer. The back-spacing is whats different in mounting various wheel styles on Corvettes. Use real spacer/adaptors with new studs, not those cheapo thin little pewter plates that crack, break and cause accidents.

Where do you get the spacers from?

Once you determine how much width you need for the proper fitment of your choice of wheels, then you can search E-Bay motors for a vendor. I bought a set from EZAccessory. Avg was about $150 a pair with shipping, tax etc.

Just be sure to check the back spacing or offset of the wheels. Some rims may not need a spacer...I went with an OEM Corvette wheel that did. Many might fit but they'll look funny because they might be set too far inside the body and that can sometimes make them rub...just depends on the wheel. Offsets for OEM wheels are documented.
Yours (most 16") is 38mm or 32mm...depends on the suspension package that yr. Figure 25mm= 1" of width.

And '88+ wheels are 56mm so approx 20mm difference = 3/4" which is the size adapter most use to run later wheels on '84 - '87 cars

Can be had cheaper if you shop around

I remain absolutely amazed at the amount of knowledge you guys have in your brains. Dang, I learn more about my Vette in 1 hour on this Forum than taking a college course. Thanks!

It's kind of scary on a lot of levels isn't it? :ugh

I made a post the other day about the same thing, and after some research and my son's help this is what I found...........

Well I just found out by used a website that calculates your wheels spacing and offset. I need 1" spacers in the front and 2" spacers in the rear. Just a little info in case someone else in doing the same thing. Thanks for your reply boomerdriver.

If you haven't already bought wheels, you can buy C5 and C6 replica wheels brand new that are made to fit the C4 without a spacer. There are several companies that sell them, just do a search for C5 or C6 replica wheels and then look through them for ones made for a C4.
