im looking for a way to get out of buying a new steering wheel for my 87, and i came across something called wheelskins. apparently all you do is put it around the outside of the wheel and lace it up. you can check them out at www.ecklers.com anyone have this, or have any comments on them? thanks in advance for any help.

I think they look pretty cool. The price is right and certainly less expensive than buying a new wheel. I believe a new wheel is about $400?

hope the pic came out,i have one on mine and love it. you do have to sew it together but its no big deal and you can get different colors, the yellow will fade. time for me to order a new one myself only because of the fading, been on for about 4 yrs and still in great shape

dident work?

hey thanks for the comments. i would like to see a picture of the wheelskin installed, you can either post it or email it to me if you'd like, my address is howardc@fit.edu. i heard something about the wheelskins warping in the sun, and becoming flexible when heated. any truth to this? thanks again for all the help.

hey thanks for posting the pic ,never could get that right. i have not had any problems with mine, and as you can see from the fading its been in the sun. it will make the steering wheel thicker.

you guys just cost me 5o bucks....wasn't impressed by pics of the wheel only in the catalog, but seein it on the car makes it a ''necessity''...damn.

thank you (really)
