I was just thinking. I have researched the washes and polishers that I'm going to get for my Vette, but now arises the question...When should I start? Here in NJ it's way to cold to start even yet and I don't have any heat in the garage or anything.

Looks like I'm going to have to wait a bit. When will you start if you haven't started already?

TR

TR, I'm going to wait for a full weekend of balmy weather (70+). I have lots of detailing plans and they will require LOTS of time. So around here, its hard to say, that's probably mid to late April. A long time to wait, huh?

TR...you haven't figured out a way to get it into your living room yet? :t

I'm shooting for the end of March to have the car all back together, running good, and inspected. Still have to replace the mufflers, change oil, oil filter, oil pan gasket, fuel filter, and finish putting the interior back together.

(oh thats right....you hate cold).....:L:L:L

I thought about it today, but then the WIND started blowing!! BBBRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrr :L
Now when it gets to be 70, cloudy, and calm... then we can talk about getting some detailing done :)

Yes, I think I'll wait for the 60 degree weather to start detailing also. I'm looking forward to it, though. Me and the Vette spending some nice quality time together. :)

Neoprene?

Tammy, what ever happened to the wet-suit and galoshes idea?

wet suit and galoshes

Heidi,
I actually did order the wet suit. I've never had one on before so maybe it was just me.... but it was so dang TIGHT!! (it WAS warm, however :) ) In order to get one small enough to fit me weight-wise, I had to get one that was a couple of inches too short (I figured it wouldn't matter.... WRONG!!). So, I was walking around all hunched over! :L :L ... which was not very conducive to my style of energetic car washing and detailing :D
So I sent it back. :(
Now I'm back to the jeans, gloves and galoshes. But I just can't get into that when its cold :)

I'm just chiming in to make everyone green. There are only about eight days out of the year here when I can't wash my car, during heavy rains. My car is a daily driver all year 'round and she gets washed once a week, and waxed once a month. I love driving home after work, especially past a load of tourists in a shuttle or a bus, because they all point and stare even though my car is now thirteen years old. Aah, life is good here.

Memorial Day weekend is when I will first give it a thorough once over. The temperture should be just about right, and it's a 3 day weekend so I can take my time and do it right. Weather permitting, the T-tops come off, the tunes get cranked up, and the wife and I go out for a little sun and fun. :cool
