Hi,

When I was a lad and lived with my parents I watched a program on the TV called the A - Team. It was this program that introduced me to the Corvette (Face had a white convertable). I had wanted one ever since.

I was walking through my town one day and saw a corvette parked up with its windows down in front of our local shop. It was the first one that I had seen in real life.

Curious I put my head through the window to look inside at the dash, the moment that I did the car started beeping at me and stopped when I removed my head.

My question is, Now that I own a 86 Vette are there any features that would have come as standard which may have been turned off over its life span up until my ownership as mine doesnt seem to have any security features other than a light that flashes on the dash "security" when the passenger door is opened.

they don't have anything like that... but, try locking your doors... the security light will go steady. shut the door and it will go off... if you leave your window down, and unlock the door by reaching inside, then opening it, the horn should start beeping. unlocking again with the key will turn it off.

That was an aftermarket system. No Corvette (that I know of) ever came with any kind of radar movement sensor that could react to you like that, though I know of many aftermarket alarms that would.

Maybe..

...the owner was nearby and turned on the panic alarm when he saw you stick your head in?
(I loved the A-team, too!)
