Can someone tell me what these wires connect to? I was going to reset the timing on my 89 after having to remove the dizzy and when I started the car to warm it up I saw some smoke. This three connector harness with Pink, Brown and black wires was laying against the manifold and melted one of the connectors off.
That should plug in to the coil wires via pins under the distributor cap. There should be two singles that plug in as well. The three wire connector goes closest to the distributor.
Don’t the wires coming out of the front side of the distributor plug into the cap? I finally found these wires in my FSM and it shows them going to the wiper motor but there is no place on the motor to plug them in.
Did you find you vacuum line for you controler yet.
Looks like you need to clean the motor up my car looked like that when I got it after the last ownner had it sitting outside for the last 7 years and last time they say they started it was 3 year before I got my hands on the car.

Marv, you’re right it is a lot of work. My 1st corvette and I’ve had to resurrect it from the dead. I’ll have to check for a connector on the bottom of the motor, it may have come off messing around with the distributor to get at that vacuum line. Replaced the line but it hasn’t changed a thing…

I stand corrected. I guess my mind was thinking something different after reading your post. I made an assumption that the three position connector was related to the work you just completed. I apologize.
