...a temperature sender for a '64 327/300 that will register the correct temp? I understand that many places sell them but they don't give the correct reading. Thanks.

I know either Corvette Central of Paragon Reproductions have senders that are suppose to be more accurate than most. Good luck.

I just bought one for my 65 from Paragon for $19.00. Works well too..... Paragon part number #8453..... GM #1513321.

I've been looking for one and thru searching the archieves I found that lots of people are using a TU 5 for 6.00 from your local auto zone.. Dave..

I appreciate all your time and help. I should be able to get a good working sender from one of these places soon. Thanks again.

Just a followup. I got a quote from Paragon for a temp sender (not a repro) for $150.00 not guaranteed correct. Can you believe that??

What !! They must have misunderstood.

Paragon part number #8453 ... $19.00 "Lectric Limited" temp switch.
.... very good switch ...Ed

that would be the price for the temp gauge that sits in the dash, not the temp sender unit that screws into the intake . . .

That's got to be what they quoted. I was totally shell shocked. I'll ask for it again and be MUCH more specific. Thanks

attret00, Just wondering why not just ride over to ZIP off of 360 and get it in person... Dave..

The ad for ZIP says their "AC-brand temperture sending units vary in calibration and may cause inconsistencies in gauge readout." That's why I was asking for locations where recalibrated original units can be purchased.

Gotcha man. You would think that they would get something that works correctly... Dave..

If you want the "temp. sending unit" for your manifold. Then the Paragon part #8453 is the right one. It matches the correct GM part #1513321. After going thru what you have been thru, I talked to some local vette engine builders. They told me that the one Paragon sells for $19.00 is a exact copy of the orginial GM sending unit. The one I put in from NAPA always ran high temps. When I got the Paragon one, the temp. reading "dropped over 40 degrees". Try it and you'll not buy another one. Good Luck

Paragon it is. I ordered and it's on the way. I thank all for the input and experience.
