After removing and cleaning the throttle body twice this year and needing to do it agian. I was just wanting to know where can I purchase the 47mm throttle body besides the dealership.
Would a 52mm throttle body work on my 1988 bone stock 350?

a 52 would work and work fine! it will give you alittle crisper throttle response but for extra HP that alone wouldn't do much.

Thanks for the info. One more question, is the 52mm a direct installation with the throttle linkage, tv cable and cruise control and what brand would you recommend. I just want to replace my high idle throttle body, with cleaning only lasting a couple of months.

there is a guy on ebay that sells them for about 270. silky smooth. my friend Rich (screen name here is rrubel) can give you the info. i am still using my 48 mm tb.

i am sure it is a direct replacement since he is using 48 mm castings and porting them out and pressing new bearings in them. everything should bolt right up. pm rrubel for some info on it.

make sure you tell the person you are buying from it's an 88! they changed something with them in 88.

"$175 TPI 52mm bore, new blades, insert and reposition egr port, walnut shell blast
$155 LT1 bore, blades and blast
$175 92-95 vette bore blades blast
$45 sealed roller bearing throttle shafts
$25 optional GM throttle body gasket set, all you need for the swap
$8.75 return shipping
$00 install and match bore air foil if one is provided

Generally if I know one is coming so I can schedule, turn around is a couple days and return shipping to most anywhere USPS priority is a couple days as well. Let me know if you need additional information. Also, note our email address change, moving away from aol"

Yup, that's the guy. Quality work all around. If you're not in a hurry, send him yours and he'll work on it. Otherwise, he probably will be able to send you an already-done unit that was someone else's core. I went with the sealed roller bearings. This thing is soooo smooth...
