Just trying to figure out exactly which transmission was used on 81's. Was it a Borg-Warner T10? Super T10? Any help greatly appreciated.

Thx,
Dawg

I dont have the car jacked up/lifted at the moment, so trying to measure was a bit tricky. If you mean where the drive shaft attaches to the transmission yoke, it appears to be 3 5/8, but that was with me trying to squish myself under the car to measure. If you aren't in a big hurry, I can get you an exact measurement sometime in the near future.

Thanks

I'm not in a big hurry. I have the 79 BW with yoke mated to my 81 drivesaft with a conversion u joint right now. My plans are to swap in the correct driveshaft, however, a fellow was selling one on ebay, stated as from an 81 4 speed. I asked him to measure the u joints (still attached) and he said they were 3 1/4 (outside of cap to outside of cap)

That contradicted what I was led to believe (that the 81 driveshaft had a mix of ujoints in 1981.)

So now I'm just trying to find out what is really in the 81 for ujoints, so I can plan my driveshaft search.

Finally got the U-joints replaced and in my car, they were mixed. Front and rear were 2 different sizes. If you need exact measurements, let me know.

Thank you. I wish I'd saved the sellers contact info that was trying to pass off an 81 automatic driveshaft as automatic or manual. I already knew the automatic had the smaller ones on each end.

I'm just going to go forward in life with the conversion U Joint I have now until I stumble upon a (up to) 79' drive shaft. That will still move the conversion u joint to the rear, but I'd rather have it there.

My drag racing days are behind me anyways. I just love cruisin in it now.
