i need to buy some jack pads. i've noticed a few different ways to go...plactic, steel, an insert that replaces the tray on a hydraulic jack. has anyone had any experience with any of these? any advice would be appreciated:cool :cool

I bought the aluminun ones from mid america they lock in and have worked fine on my 2 post lift. I think they were 49 bucks.
VERN:)

I too bought 4 aluminum ones. I didn't like how flexible the others were.

I threw 2 in the car just in case I need them.

But to jack up the car. I only use one, just to get it high enough on one side to place a jack under back and jack it up.

I drive the front up on rhino ramps and slide another set of ramps under the back to get car level for checking fluid levels (trans and differential). I feel better working under car with all 4 tires on ramps.

Always jack back up a little to drain all the oil, although this only makes 4 ounces difference.

I got a pair from mid-america . One's in the car and one's in the garage . Mine are a semi-hard plastic bonded to aluminum nad have the oblong part that hooks in to the frame , makeing it easy to line up to jack . They are a little too soft but it doesn't seem to be a problem .
