Which looks better?

I am going to properly tint the rear window...well,OK,I'm not, but someone will. I want to get rid of the tinted Lexan one-piece insert I have now... http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette?frame=4.5234 .Anyone interested in buying it.I would STRONGLY suggest it should be local pickup. The thing is,obviously, the size of the rear window,& packaging would be a super pain in the ____.

What don't you like about this Lexan piece?

I am not a fan of the louvre but anything would look better than my bubbly rear window tint.

When I bought mine (in some Rt 1 dealer in Ipswich Mass) it had some funky film on the rear window. I removed it (stupidly) with a razor blade and windex. That pretty much rendered the rear defroster useless (didnt work anyway) so be careful with whatever you use to remove it. I'm sure there are chemical products that are a smarter choice than laying on your back with a single edge razor while shooting windex staright up.

That lexan piece makes more sense but to me, it should be darker.

I want to go darker,& I dont want to have to pull it out anymore to clean. Not that its heavy or anything, its hard to get back in there for me anymore.I have back problems,& I'm 6'3" tall,& not real skinny.I havent had the piece out but twice since I bought it,so its in quite good shape

I had the same set of louvers on when my 'vette was my DD in highschool. The sun was just TOO MUCH back there. I eventually attached it with velcro so I could remove it easier for cleaning. Now thinking back, it probably wasn't too secure for high speed. I don't think it looks that bad, but probably better without.

Many years ago I had a stang identical to that only it was darg green, got stolen in 1980 and never recovered:mad I really miss the 68 shely GT390 I had, wish I had never slod it.:eyerole But then again I wouldn't have the Vette

The louvres on the Mako Shark c3 are really great I think. But oke, the Mako doesn't have a rear window only the louvres and you can elec. open and close them! Very cool if you ask me. On a normal c3, well not for me.

C3RVETTE,
I've never seen side pipes like that. They look like hookers but they have the skin burner shields on them. Do you have vendor info on them ?

Thanks Jim

One plus is that the louvers came from a freind off an 80 Corvette,& I got them for free. Looks like the only way to attach them is how they were previously, with double-sided tape ;shrug

Might be a member here,as well. Heres his webpage... http://www.steelshields.com/ Heres Corvette versions... http://www.steelshields.com/products.html#corvettes ....Tell him maximus79 sent ya!

:w I had louvers on my new 81 280ZX. They attached with double sided tape and went partly under the rubber rear window seal. They were a pain to clean and when you thought you had removed all the water, sure enough some more would drip and leave water spots. They were also great dust collectors, but then everything was a dust collector in Lubbock Texas.
