Help! whining noise coming from 94 lt1-sounds like a super charger

My 94 has been doing this for 4 years and is getting slightly louder- A couple people told me it was the PS pump-I once had a mazda that made a similar noise that turned out to be the tranny. I changed my fluid and filter but it did not help. Tried a stethescope but could not isolate. Anyone else experience something like this on a LT1 c4?

Take the belt off and see if it continues...

if so, it has to be trans or engine not pulleys.

Idle air circuit can whistle loudly sometimes. Mine is very loud like a whinning but its just the air passing thru the small ports in the big TB.

if it might be PS...suck out 1 pint and add LUCAS PS rack conditioner & stop leak. The stuff is magic.

I used a bulb to suck the power steering fluid out-ran it for a couple trips and repeated. It took a pint each time. I used AMSOIL synthetic
universal ATF fluid since I had quart. The noise is almost 100% gone. Thanks for your help!

Belts can make all sorts of noises, mimicking other things. I use either a waxy stick, like a crayon, or WD40 on the belt to isolate it.

Alternator can make those noises. Is it engine RPM related, then? In/Out of gear?
Just be careful of fingers, rings, clothing and moving parts, please.
