I am new to Corvette's after having owned Mustang's for the last 20 years. I now have a 1992 Corvette Auto with 71K miles. Generally speaking the best seat of the pants and bang for the buck can be found in the gears. In your opinion, what gears will work best 345 or 373 (Without killing too much top end/fuel economy or having to change the converter? )
I have a bone stock Corvette and would like to get it running Mid 13's.. It runs 14.2 @ 100 now..
I will eventually do all the free horsepower stuff to the car, such as 160 thermostat, relocating the air sensor, and cutting out the air cleaner. Possibly the 1.6 Rockers.
Does it really benefit me to go with a Cat back system? It seems to me the weak spot is just the mufflers, and quite honestly, what’s the size difference between the pipes on the stock resonator and axle pipes versus say Flowmasters or Dynomax etc?? I am also not happy with doing away with the cool looking square tail pipe.
My goal with the exhaust is to get away from my car sounding like a inboard outboard boat at full throttle. If I can gain a little horsepower in the process, great!
