Boy, did you open a can of worms!
Gliptone liquid is the best stuff that I have used on my '94.
This is a real personal thing..You may have to try a few.

By the way...they also have what they call a Pro buff, which is a glaze. Use this before waxing if you want, or have the time. It makes the paint look better. Then if you really want to go nuts...after you wax, go over the car with Meguires Quick Detailer, or Quick Wax. It's a spary on, wipe off. It'll take about 10 minutes to do, but it adds a nice finishing touch to the shine.

Have fun!

I use Wizard car care products including the clay bar at the present time.

ZAINO :)

Since this thread became revived...

I have used a product I found at a Harley Davidson dealership called S100.

I had used Turtle Wax products years ago, then with the 78 began using Mother's Carnauba Wax, which I had been pleased with the results...other than you need to be diligent in getting ALL of the compound off or it would leave white marks. However, after trying S100, I have yet to use an easier, longer lasting wax.

S100 is applied in a thin layer, is removed before it dries and does not leave any white residue. The shine and 'waxed feel' last months, with numerous washings in between. I use this product about every 4 months just to stay on a schedule and not leave the 78 unprotected.

5StarShine ? anyone?

I purchased a product with a patented technology called PPS.
I first saw it on a site called www.5starshine.com

PPS Technology

They had a link to "gardgroup" here in Ontario so I purchased the "kit"
It's expensive but I am very happy with it. They say it lasts several years.
The feel of the paint afterwards is just like glass.
The technology is a positive electric charge and a negative second stage.
Check out the site for details. My silver vette looks great. (no pics yet)

Does the Zanio or the 3M swirl mark remover work? I bought the Zanio claybar and wash and wax but noticed some swirl marks on the car ..Should I remove them first before doing the rest of the car?

I was using the Color Cure Turtle Wax on my black 97 but it was so hard to wax it. I would spend hours waxing it and it was tough work. I recently switched to the mothers 3 step system. Im gonna give it a whirl. So far it looks awesome and its much easier. The turtle wax was good if you wanted to spend about 3 hours waxing your car.

I just used Griots, "best of show wax", and was very impressed. Thus far, it has been the best wax that I have used. I was turned on to this company from a friend, and now use their products exclusively.

www.griots.com

Has anyone else used their products, if so what do you think?

I'm a fan of Meguire's products, top to bottom. As a couple others have mentioned, it really is a personal preference as to what you're looking for, how much time you are willing to invest, and $$$$ of course. I think technique has a lot to do with leaning toward one brand over another as well. No two people are going to prep, polish, and wax a car in exactly the same fashion so the results from the same product may vary from one guy to the next.

I too have used almost everything and for best all around...depth shine, refletivity, longevity, durability blah blah blah I have chosen for the moment 3M all of there product are excellent professional grade proven products you can't go wrong. No gimmicks no fads no hype...just exceptional products you can depend on.

Ahhh, a man after my own heart. 3M makes some fine products for maintaining the finish on ones vehicle. They certainly made a believer out of me. Works really well on stainless and chrome too.

My second choice would be Liquid Glass and after that is Nu-Finish. Zaino is ok, but not worth all the hype, the cost, and the inconvenience of having to order it and have it shipped to you. And that's not even considering the bother of dealing with a "5 step" process.

I've been using nothing but Meguiar's on all of my cars for years. The Professional Grade and Gold Class products are great. Another killer product they make is the Quik Detailer. :cool

I've been using Mother's three step process and cannot believe the difference in our Vette. The car always looks "wet" and the process is easy since I'm the main caretaker.

Donna

P.S. I also use Maguire's Quik Detailer.

I like Pinnacle Souveran! Tried Zaino but Souveran makes my 03 Ann Red paint look much better!
