who makes the best diagnostic software? for the( G.M. TPI engines, and LT1 engines,1985-1996) Im looking for software that I can install in a laptop computer to find and diagnose problems,
BTW before you suggest getting a code reader, digital volt meter and code manual, Im well beyond that stage, and have been useing several of those for years
what Im looking for is a way to plug into a G.M. TPI, ECU with a laptop, and read the sensor output, or test the ECU itself, and probable causes of problems, any suggestions are welcome

You might want to check out the Tech 1 that most GM Service techs use. It gives out an incredible amount of information on practically every sensor, part etc on the car. I beleive you can get one from GM for around $499. Or there is the newer one out that is probably a lot more but gives out much more information to. I have never heard of any diagnostic software written for any automotive use, that goes on any personal computers. :Steer

AutoTap will work on ODBII cars. My son has it for his laptop works good saved us many trips to GM to have a service engine light checked out.

Don't know of anything that will do ODBI, I'm looking for that for my 94.
