Whoosing Sound

After a 10 minute ride in the "Z" back from a get together, I noticed a "whoosing" sound emanating from the front driver side tire area. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

The only time I ever heard that whooosing sound was near an old telephone booth with a pile of clothes in it and the front door torn off. There was also a faint smell of expanded gas???

Hard to describe. Sort of like air escaping, but not continuous. It's cyclical - whoosh, whoosh, whoosh. Went away after I let it sit for awhile. I'm hoping it's not the active handling going hey-wire. :confused

That's what I was thinking....wind.otfl At 160 in any car the gas smell is normal. Sometimes a urine smell too.

Is the sounds origin the A/C vent? Have you ruled out any tire/brake issues? (Cyclical?)

If it's after you shut the vehicle down, it could be the a/c high and low pressures equalizing, or the radiator fans spinning down after the a/c has been on from either a defrost or a/c mode being used. Try duplicating the situtation with the climate controls completely off and see if it the noise is still present. Good luck with it.
